About the role
WeTraffix Pty Ltd is seeking several experienced Traffic Controllers TC2's (new Tickets) to join our team on a permanent casual or Subcontract basis.
We have a variety of roles available from Team leaders to assistants, with plenty of hours to offer.
This is a crucial role that ensures the safe and efficient flow of traffic at work sites and public areas across Melbourne. As a Traffic Controller TC2, you will be responsible for managing traffic movements, protecting workers and the public, and maintaining compliance with traffic management standards.
This position offers flexible, casual work based across a wide variety of suburbs around Melbourne, allowing you to balance your professional commitments with personal flexibility.
Traffic Controller TC2
$32 – $40 per hour
Key Responsibilities

Direct and control traffic flow at work sites, events and public areas in accordance with traffic management plans

Position and monitor traffic control devices, including signs, cones and barriers to ensure clear communication of traffic directions

Communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians and site personnel using hand signals, radio communication and other approved methods

Maintain a safe working environment by identifying and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to site supervisors

Respond quickly to changing traffic conditions and adapt traffic management strategies as needed

Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and local traffic regulations throughout your shift

Conduct pre-shift equipment checks to verify all traffic control devices are in safe, working condition

Maintain detailed records of traffic incidents or unusual occurrences as required

Work collaboratively with other traffic controllers, site supervisors and emergency services when necessary
What we're looking for

Current Traffic Controller TC2 (Category 2 roads) certification or equivalent qualification recognised in Victoria

Demonstrated experience working as a Traffic Controller in similar environments

Strong understanding of traffic management principles and Australian road safety standards

Excellent communication skills with the ability to give clear instructions and warnings

High level of situational awareness and ability to assess risk in dynamic environments

Physical fitness and capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Reliable and punctual, with flexibility to work varied hours including early starts and shift work

Current and valid driver's licence

First Aid certification (preferred but not essential)
