Swept Path Analysis

What is it and why do I need it?

What is a Swept Path Analysis and Why do I need one, I hear you ask?

Well, a Swept Path Analysis effectively acts as a simulation and calculation to determine how vehicles will move around the roads surrounding your site. The software is backed by a library of various vehicle types and sizes, meaning examiners can carefully assess the potential scenarios.

So different Vehicles require different turning circles and all this needs to be considered in a swept path analysis.

  • 4.91m Passenger Vehicle (B85)

  • 5.20m Passenger Vehicle (B99)

  • 6.40m Small Rigid Vehicle (SRV)

  • 8.80m Medium Rigid Vehicle (MRV)

  • 12.50m Heavy Rigid Vehicle (HRV)

  • 19.0m Semi Trailer Truck

  • 25.0m B-Double Truck

Required to receive a Permit

Before council can issue a permit, they’ll ask for the type and size of larger vehicles requiring access to the site, and will request proof of safe manoeuvres and this is where a swept path analysis is required. WeTraffix assists with these turning templates, allowing them to be overlaid on top of a feature survey or existing conditions aerial photography.
